Connecticut Education Consultant Daniel Schiels

An experienced consultant and educational professional based in Easton, Connecticut, Daniel Schiels began his career as the arts enrichment director at the Learning Spring School in New York City. During his seven years as the arts director for the K-8 school for students living with autism spectrum disorder, he designed an array of curricula that adhered to the facility’s academic and social programs. From 2015 to 2018, Daniel K. Schiels served the New York City Department of Education as a special education department liaison.

Following three years as a teacher with the Southern Westchester Board of Cooperative Educational Services, Daniel Schiels joined Stamford Public Schools in a teaching and curriculum development role. He taught at several schools, including Springdale Elementary School, Rippowam Middle School, and Stamford High School. In 2023, he was a featured presenter and speaker at the Stamford Public Schools’ Data Conference.

Daniel K. Schiels studied education at the University of Hartford. He continued his studies at Touro University, earning a master of arts in education. He has earned several honors and accolades during his career in education, including the 2024 Funds For Teacher Fellowship Award, which supports research in nature-based literacy development for autism communities through Fairfield County school districts.
